Crocodile faux leather

This Crocodile faux leather skin covered chair is striking. Great for high-end upholstery. The design is fairly classic but we think that the texture and pattern of the crocodile faux leather upholstery makes this piece really stand out. This comes Via Adrienne Rolka so a big thank to her on that. The gold / brown colouring, again, by itself is not unusual but the textures and finish take that to a new level.

KOTHEA faux leather for upholstery has some of the highest durability ratings in the UK. More on this blog and also here: https://www.kothea.com/faux-leather-upholstery.htm

We love upholstery in velvet. Be it a straightforward cotton velvet or perhaps something more luxurious made from cashmere and silk…or just a plain silk velvet for that matter. We just love the textures.

Anyway.

Combine that with a quite striking and unusual design as in this contemporarily upholstered beige cotton velvet chair then you can get quite stunning results without the need to go for too much patter or detail on the fabric.

Really nice shot of this white faux leather chair from Taylor Llorente – unusual in the sense that the chair is taken from the rear which  I guess makes the image stand out a little more than it perhaps otherwise would do. We like the pure white faux leather of course but also the contrast to the medium-dark wooden legs and the dark upholstery pins.

Silk Upholstered Chair

This is an ornate and detailed chair covered with a patterned green fabric as you can see. Whilst the patter might not be to everyone’s taste, nor the upholstered creasing details to the front you have to admire the bird-like details of the frame…almost feathered wings and talons.

Turquoise Crocodile Faux Leather

When used intelligently, KOTHEA faux leather upholstery can create amazing and durable effects for interior designers. This crocodile/alligator effect, in an amazing turquoise colourway, is a case in point.

Many interior designers prefer faux leather to real leather for a variety of practical reasons. Mostly it can look the same but, as in the case above, more effects can be readily added to the faux alternative. The faux leathers (or faux skins if you like) really can mimic most hide effects from boar to buffalo from snake to crocodile – there really is a limitless range of possibilities even I just the texture. The faux product is typically easier to make up (as it is available by the metre rather than by the hide) and it is often less expensive and also more readily maintained in excellent condition.

This wingback chair by Howell is nicely upholstered in orange linen. A bit striking a colour for some, maybe!

Perhaps the colour adds something interesting to this otherwise classic design?

Sourcing upholstery linens can be tricky; KOTHEA have a good range of upholstery weight linens.
